Since we have so many emails asking various questions, we’ve listed the most frequently asked questions to help you.


What ingredients are in my sweets?

We label ALL ingredients in your sweets. In circumstances where they contains nuts, may contain traces of nuts or any other potentially harmful ingredient for special dietary requirements, we will note this on the ingredients labelling clearly in CAPITALS. The absence of any statement means that to the best of our knowledge such ingredients are not prevalent. We always request that the customer uses best practice and contacts us before purchasing ANY products if they have any adverse allergies to any particular ingredients or are unsure so we can inform you of any possibilities.

It is impossible for us to confirm that ANY sweet is guaranteed 100% free of any traces of nut as most manufacturers produce nuts or sweets containing traces of nuts in the same factory. We will strive to note this on the ingredients label whenever possible. The information provided by Dandy Candy about nuts is purely an aid to assist you when purchasing your sweets. It is by no means definitive and due to manufacturers continuously changing ingredients or being sold on to other manufacturers, the information supplied by Dandy Candy should always be viewed as detail supplied by the manufacturer and by no means a second guess or Dandy Candys own information. We do not 100% guarantee that our sweets are 100% free from nuts at any time and therefore purchasing our products is at the buyers own risk.

How much is 250 grams?

250 grams = 0.551 pounds or 8.81 ounces or ¼ of a kilogram

Singular sweet weights vary. For example, the size of a 250 gram bag of Marshmallows would be the size of a watermelon but the size of a 250 gram bag of Jelly Beans would be the size of a standard apple! Unless purchasing from our special pick ‘n’ mix selection, all loose sweets are sold in 250 grams and can be ordered in multiples.

When will my sweets arrive?

Depending on the option you select from our drop down list and from the day of placing order; providing goods are in stock (which they normally are) delivery times are typically 3-5 working days if your order is sent by Royal Mail tracked.

For example:
If you purchase your order on Monday and you opt for Royal Mail 1st class, you should expect to receive your order on Tuesday or Wednesday.
If you purchase your order on a Monday and opt for our courier service, you should have your order on Wednesday.
Orders placed on Friday will be sent on a Monday and delivered accordingly pertaining to your delivery method unless Saturday delivery is requested before 11:00am on the day of ordering or timed delivery is specifically selected.
If you request Next Day delivery and place your order before 10am, you will receive your order the next working day.

Charges for couriers to remote parts of the UK are higher (The Highlands and Islands of Scotland - postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE. Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly -postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25). Please note that we classify the Channel Islands as an International destination.

We do not post on Saturdays or Sundays and cannot be held liable for any delays caused by third parties such as the delivery service provider.

If an item is out of stock temporarily and we are expecting it back in stock within a few days, we will hold your order until it comes in. If you have ordered sweets that have miraculously gone for good without our prior knowledge and we have it showing as “in stock” (sweets are disappearing from the shelves at an alarming rate) we will email you refund you immediately. If an item is out of stock for more than a couple of days but we expect it in shortly (this can certainly be the case for exported items) we will email you to ask if you would like us to send everything when the missing item arrives in stock or if you would prefer us to send what we can straight away.

How do you send your sweets?

We package ALL orders to an extremely high level. Since they have a journey to make before they reach you, all weighed sweets are sealed in plastic bags first. We supply you with a special Dandy Candy bag to transfer your sweets into for the ultimate retro experience. They are lovingly packaged with brightly coloured tissue paper and a free ‘taster’ gift for every customer.

For your peace of mind (and of course to comply with the laws of England and Wales), all sweets are labelled to the extreme with EVERY single ingredient and the current best before date which we keep rigorous checks on and since we have such a large turnover of produce, you can rest assured our sweets will be the freshest on the market.

ALL of our sweets are re-stocked weekly, therefore maintaining the optimum freshness. As a general rule, boiled sweets, wrapped sweets, jellies, gums, toffee and candy all have a relatively long shelf life of up to two years. Seldom lower than 6 months. Chocolate, mallow, liqourice and coconut tend to have shorter best before dates, but never less than 3 months.

Do you ship Internationally?

We don't at the moment but as soon as we do - we'll let you know!

What Payments do you accept?

We accept ALL major credit and debit cards. You can pay online OR you can pay over the phone.

We also accept PayPal, cheques and postal orders. Please write your order number on the back so we know it’s from you! Our postal address is in the “contact us” section

Is my personal information secure?

Dandy Candy is hosted on a secure server. Your card details are securely handled by [ ]. PayPal is also fully secure. You can rest-assured your details will be 100% secure. When you enter your personal information it is a secure link when forwarded to us (secure websites start with https). We use your email address purely for contacting you about pending orders or to send you details of our special offers and competitions ONLY if you opt to join our Newsletter

You can easily unsubscribe from our emails at the bottom of each email we send you.

We do not divulge ANY of your information to third parties.

How to redeem Dandy Candy gift vouchers and discount codes

There is a section on the checkout page where you can enter your Gift Voucher code or discount codes we send our loyal customers from time to time.

How can I be sure of hygiene?

It’s what we do! Unlike a lot of sweet sellers, we are approved by Trading Standards, The Food Safety & Hygiene Council, DEFRA and our local council. We have regular checks (which aren’t actually necessary for sweet suppliers but we like to pass the reassurance of passing these checks on to our customers). You can rest assured your sweets will be packed in the most hygienic conditions, weighed professionally, on trade-approved calibrated scales and the only hands to touch your sweets will be yours!
